"on wednesdays" is a result from 2 years work in the recording studio. the album as it were is some sort of james joyce's "ulysses" set in audio - from thimblerigs for thimblerigs. that's why there are only 15 instead of 18 episodes. the album enfolds the aberrations of one day, starting early in the morning when the market begins until same time next morning. and it is peppered fragmentarily with smaller or bigger hints, cues, references, memories, homages and ambiguities.
all of this does not mean that the songs are always banal, sometimes they might be shallow too. yes, and sometimes they are very personal und some other times the guys really have something to say.
the inevitable question as to the band's name: brigittenau is the name of a district in vienna. and in the brigittenau the brigittenau is called "bre". and all of the 3 band members come from the brigittenau.

"on wednesdays" ist in 2 jahren arbeit entstanden. das album ist sozusagen eine art "ulysses" von james joyce von halbstarken für halbstarke. und daher auch nur mit 15 statt 18 episoden. es umfasst die irrgänge eines ganzen tages von früh morgens, wenn der markt beginnt, bis zum nächsten morgen. und es ist bruchstückhaft gespickt mit kleineren oder grösseren hinweisen, andeutungen, referenzen, erinnerungen, hommagen und zweideutigkeiten.
das bedeutet aber nicht, dass die songs immer nur banal sind, manchmal sind sie auch oberflächlich. ja, und manchmal sehr persönlich und manchmal wollen die drei auch wirklich etwas sagen.
die unausweichliche frage zum namen: in der brigittenau heisst die brigittenau kurz "bre". und die 3 bandmit-glieder stammen allesamt aus der brigittenau.
